Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week


January 12, 2015- Cassie V.


PARDS would like to nominate Cassie V. as volunteer of the week! Cassie volunteers a couple of hours each week in the barn and lessons. Wherever we need her she is ready to jump in and help. With her experience as a vet tech Cassie brings knowledge of horses, she is friendly and very comfortable working with our riders. Thank you Cassie for joining the team of volunteers!


January 9, 2015- Dorris Peter

Grande Prairie & District Victim Services Unit would like to take this opportunity to salute Dorris Peter, for her dedication and commitment to Victim Services.  Dorris is a very active advocate, who remains cool, calm and collected, in all situations.  Dorris can also be counted on to help with fundraisers, pancake breakfasts, BBQ’s, Parades and other public events VSU is involved in.  We appreciate you Dorris and say a huge he thank you for being part of our team.


January 8, 2015- Marie 

South Peace Rural Community Learning, Rural Reading Network nominates Marie as the volunteer of the week. Thank you to Marie for all her help as a volunteer tutor and much more!  Marie tutors a student who wants help with English speaking skills; and she facilitates our Conversation Corner program, providing an opportunity for people to drop in and meet people and practice speaking English.  She also provides invaluable advice to the program coordinator and is eager to take advantage of training opportunities.  Last, but not least, Marie is ever cheerful and always ready for Christmas!  Thank you Marie!


January 7, 2015- Lionel Frey 

Sunrise House would like to nominate Lionel Frey for volunteer of the week. Despite being busy in his own life Lionel braves the cold to come help shovel out driveways at the shelter. This will be Lionel's 2nd year volunteering with us. Thank you for your extremely appreciated services. 



January 6, 2015- Grande Prairie Friendship Centre Iskwew Project

Babies Best Start nominates the ladies from the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre Iskwew project: Kera Kosakewick, Ladora Campbell, Dawn Johnson, Donna Leet, and Kimberly Krahn. These ladies have been working on gifts for our elder's Christmas party and on Tuesday, they cooked and served Ham, scalloped potatoes, mix vegetables to the GPFC community outreach supper night. Thank you all for your volunteer efforts!
